Marine Harvest merging smoking plants

Marine Harvest`s two Belgian smoking units, located in Oostende and Brugge, will be integrated into one smoking unit. As a result of the integration, all smoked products designated for the Benelux market will be produced in Oostende. The merger will result in a stronger balanced customer portfolio in the Benelux market and major scale advantages. The technology and expertise of the two teams will provide Marine Harvest with an advanced smoking unit, highly suited for the production of a streamlined chilled product range meeting market requirements in terms of taste, quality, price and packaging. This exercise is part of the full integration plan within the Marine Harvest downstream business unit.
