Take the weight off your fleet...
New aluminium frame makes Scottish-built net cleaning system quieter and a tonne lighter
Aberdeenshire engineering specialist Brimmond has launched an improved version of its NetJet 350D high-pressure net cleaning system supplied to the salmon farming sector.
The Mk2 iteration of the NetJet has a marine-grade aluminium lifting frame, replacing the previous steel construction. This cuts overall weight by around one tonne - from 5,500kg to 4,500kg - while significantly improving corrosion resistance, says Brimmond.
Maintenance has also been improved through a new acoustically lined bi-folding canopy door system, engineered to provide full 360-degree service access while supporting improved sound dampening and water ingress protection in harsh marine environments.
The NetJet 350D Mk2 retains its proven core technology, including a KAMAT high-pressure pump, duplex filtration system and 12-inch touchscreen controls, and forms part of Brimmond’s wider aquaculture range spanning 250hp to 750hp, with both diesel and electric options available.
Brimmond says it is the only Scottish company to design, manufacture, rent and service aquaculture pump systems, combining product innovation with a fully integrated support model, a key differentiator in an industry where operational disruption is costly.
Easier to maintain
Managing director Tom Murdoch said: “The Mk2 is about taking a system our customers already trust and making it even more robust, more efficient and easier to maintain in demanding conditions.
“We don’t just build the equipment, we support it for its entire lifecycle. Whether it’s rapid parts delivery, on-site servicing, or providing a like-for-like hire unit, we’re focused on keeping our customers operating with minimal downtime.”
The company points out that it holds an extensive stock of NetJet components at its headquarters in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, allowing parts to be dispatched to sites across Scotland’s west coast and islands within 48 hours.
This rapid response capability is supported by a dedicated fleet of service vans.
Brimmond adds that its hire fleet mirrors the footprint and performance of installed units, enabling operators to switch seamlessly to a rental system during major maintenance or overhaul, avoiding costly operational gaps.
