Marine Harvest Chile retakes positive results

Chile: The recently resigned managing director of Marine Harvest Chile, Álvaro Jiménez, explained that he stepped aside because he already accomplished his mission and also the company has reached very positive production results again.

Now he plans to take up again his agricultural and financial businesses while expects to remain related to the local salmon industry, where he has been working for the last 20 years.

According to the Chilean newspaper La Segunda, Jiménez said that he already reached an end of cycle in the company, which started in 2008 with the most critical moments experienced by Marine Harvest Chile due to the ISA virus, which ended in 2010 “with the best results ever of the company ,” he stated.

He further explained that despite the low volumes produced by the company this year (7 times lower than in 2006), other production indexes such as growth rate and average price have lead them to an unprecedented results in 2010.
