Tidal insight manager will help fish farmers get full benefit from tech
Aquaculture technology company Tidal has hired Johan Fredrik Platou as customer insight manager, which the company says strengthens its ability to convert operational data into measurable customer value.
Platou brings experience from safety and reliability consulting in the oil and gas industry, where he has helped operators use data to optimise production, improve asset performance, and support operational decision-making. His work spans both engineering projects and live operations, with a focus on system behaviour and performance improvement.
With a background in mechanical and industrial engineering, he focuses on turning operational data into actionable insights and measurable business value, Tidal said in a press release.
Turning data into action
At Tidal, he will support the company’s integrated approach to aquaculture, combining hardware, software, and analytics to improve feeding, fish welfare, and farm performance.
“As aquaculture operations become more complex, turning data into actionable insight is critical,” said Anders Fossøy, Tidal’s manager for the world’s largest salmon producing country, Norway. “Johan Fredrik’s experience in data-driven optimisation strengthens our ability to deliver measurable results for customers.”
Platou said Tidal has a unique combination of integrated data streams. “I really look forward to working closely with customers to translate this into improved daily operations and long-term performance.”
He will play a key role in strengthening customer insight capabilities, working across teams to analyse performance, identify improvements, and ensure customers realise full value, says Tidal.
