Norway salmon spot price climbed close to NOK 70 per kilo last week
According to sector statistics provider Akvafakta, the spot price of Norwegian salmon increased by NOK 0.51/kg last week (week 40), up to NOK 69.43 (£5.49) per kilo.
That price is NOK 4.38/kg higher than during the same week in 2025.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 75.40/kg, compared to NOK 76.06/kg at the same time last year.
Exports
Norway exported 43,565 tonnes of salmon (round weight) in week 40. This is 6% less than the week before, but 22.5% more than the same week a year ago.
Over the past four weeks, export volumes have collectively been 23.4% above what they were in the same period in 2025.
So far this year, 1.3 million tonnes of salmon have been exported, which is 7.3% more than as of week 40 last year.
Feed
According to Akvafakta, sales of salmon and trout feed in the period to week 32 are 1.23 million tons, 8% more than in the same period in 2025.
Cod
According to statistics from the Norwegian Seafood Council, the export price of farmed cod decreased by NOK 0.57/kg in week 40, down to NOK 83.74/kg.
However, it is NOK 14.08/kg above the price in the same week in 2025.
The average export price for farmed cod so far this year is NOK 79.07 NOK/kg compared to NOK 67.91/kg at the same time last year.
According to the Seafood Council, 409 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod were exported in week 40. This is 4% more than the week before, and 27% more than the same week a year ago.
So far this year, 12,248 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod have been exported, which is 10.7% more than at the same time last year.
