Mowi Scotland harvested less but earned more per kilo in Q3
Parent company broke volume record due to big increase in Norway
Mowi Scotland harvested 11,500 gutted weight tonnes of salmon in the third quarter, and made an improved operating profit of €1.70 (£1.43) per kilo, according to a trading update from parent company Mowi ASA.
The harvest volume is 5,900 gwt (34%) below the 17,400 gwt harvested by Mowi Scotland in the same period last year when it made EBIT per kilo of €1.54, and was below guidance of 13,000 gwt included in Mowi's Q2 2026 report. Mowi Scotland harvested almost 59,000 gwt in the first nine months of 2026, around the same as last year.
Globally, Mowi ASA’s subsidiaries harvested a total of 186,000 gwt in Q3 2026, a record high for a quarter.
Operational EBIT for the group was a Q3 record-high €275 million (Q3 2025: €112m). Blended farming cost was €5.11 per kilo in the quarter, down from €5.42 per kilo in Q3 2025, equivalent to a cost reduction of €0.31/kg, or €51 million.
In Norway, Mowi harvested 134,000 gwt, eclisping the 99,400 gwt harvested in Q3 2025. The Norwegian operation made the highest operational EBIT of €1.80 (€1.12).
Mowi Chile harvested 23,500 gwt (22,400 gwt), and made operational EBIT of €0.55, the same as Q3 2025, and Mowi Canada West harvested 7,500 gwt (9,600 gwt) and made EBIT/kg of €1.25 (€0.38).

No operating profit data were provided for Ireland and the Faroes.
Arctic Fish made an operating loss of €-4.2m, which equates to €-1.05/kg.
Operational EBIT in Mowi’s secondary processing Consumer Products division was €45 million, and operational EBITDA in its Feed division was €34m in Q3 2026.
