BioMar recruits Cargill aqua R&D boss

Feed manufacturer BioMar has appointed former Mowi, Cermaq and Cargill executive Simon Wadsworth as its new global director of research and development.

Wadsworth, who starts his new job on November 1, joins BioMar from a similar role with Cargill, where he has led the company’s global aqua R&D programme.

“I am truly happy that Simon Wadsworth has decided to join us to contribute to our commitment to the aquaculture industry,” said BioMar chief executive Carlos Diaz in a press release.

‘Excellent track record’

“He has a very experienced R&D profile and an excellent track record within R&D management, product innovation and collaboration with customers and the business.

“He has a highly acknowledged profile in the aquaculture industry, and we are very much looking forward to having him on board.”

Wadsworth has more than 30 years’ experience within feed and fish farming operations at Marine Harvest (now called Mowi), Cermaq and EWOS-Cargill.

BioMar said he had solid international experience and a strong network in the industry and had been an important contributor to product innovations creating landmarks within nutrition and health.
