Innovasea puts trout on the menu for Biomass Pro users
Aquaculture supplier Innovasea has increased the number of species supported by its Biomass Pro camera system to eight by adding a new algorithm for rainbow trout.
“Expanding Biomass Pro to include rainbow trout allows us to bring proven biomass estimation capabilities to an important segment of the global aquaculture industry,” said Marc Turano, Innovasea’s general manager for aquaculture operations.
“With support for eight species, farms have a versatile, field-tested solution for reliable biomass data.”
Innovasea said its Biomass Pro solution combines a lightweight, AI-powered camera with an intuitive dashboard. Designed to operate with or without fixed infrastructure, it can be deployed and retrieved by a single employee.
Onboard data processing allows farms to easily move the system between pens for what Innovasea claims is unmatched versatility.
Current and historical data are compiled within Innovasea’s Realfish Pro platform and put into detailed reports that provide a comprehensive view of growth performance over time. With this advanced data, farm managers can better track trends, identify unexpected deviations and make data-driven decisions.

The eight species now available in Innovasea’s Biomass Pro solution are: Atlantic salmon, cobia, European sea bass, gilthead seabream, king salmon, rainbow trout, red snapper, and yellowtail kingfish.
