Salmon prices turned up last week
After four weeks of declines, the spot price of market-setting Norwegian salmon rose slightly again, but export volumes remain very high
According to sector data provider Akvafakta, the spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon increased by NOK 0.62 (£0.05) in week 37, up to NOK 65.75/kg.
Despite the increase, it is the first time in 10 weeks that the price is below the same week in 2025, by NOK 4.97/kg.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 75.99/kg, compared to NOK 76.17/kg at the same time last year.
Exports
According to Akvafakta, Norway exported 42,330 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 37. This is 2% down from the previous week, but it is 19.1% more than the same week a year ago.
So far this year, 1.17 million tonnes (round weight) have been exported, 5.8% more than at the same time last year.
Cod
Norway exported 277 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod in week 37. This is 1% less than the week before, and 5% less than the same week in 2025.
The export price of farmed cod was NOK 84.80 last week, which is NOK 4.75/kg less than in week 36, but NOK 17.30/kg more than week 37 last year.
So far this year, 11,067 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod have been exported, 10.1% more than at the same time a year ago.
The average price of exported farmed cod so far this year is NOK 78.65/kg, compared to NOK 67.65/kg in the corresponding period in 2025.
