Processing purchaser sought
The successful applicant will be required to liaise with suppliers as well as other internal functions to ensure goods and services are purchased at the lowest ultimate cost, in line with the overall purchasing strategy. The purchasing assistant will issue invitations to tender, analyse the bids received and prepare relevant contractual documents. They will also be involved in supplier evaluation and selection and will eventually be responsible for rationalising the supply base to further reduce spend. Training and development will be given to the successful candidate in all areas of purchasing including negotiation, tendering, supply base rationalisation and cost reduction. The succes applicant will need to be conversant with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and have excellent communication and numeracy skills. Purchasing experience within a fast moving environment would be an advantage The post is offered on a full-time permanent position, working a 40 hour week.
