Aquaculture UK organiser predicts record crowds after move to Glasgow

Record crowds are expected at the Aquaculture UK trade show and conference this year following the event’s move from Aviemore to the SEC Centre, co-located with the Armadillo and Ovo Hydro vanues at the Scottish Events Campus on the banks of the Clyde in Glasgow.

Organiser Diversified Communications said the 2026 edition of the biennial event, on June 16-17, promises to be the biggest and best yet.

Aquaculture UK will occupy around 10,000 square metres of floorspace which offers all the advantages of bespoke modern exhibition facilities.

Exhibitors and visitors will also have access to private rooms for meetings, while inside the hall itself and within the SEC environs, there are cafes, bars and restaurants for all-day networking, Diversified said in a press release.

More accommodation

Glasgow has a wider range of accommodation and better transport links than Aviemore, making it more easily accessible for national and international attendees.

“Relocating to Glasgow allows us to welcome more participants, provide an even more enriching experience, and build a bigger, better future for this much-loved show,” said event director Cheri Arvonio.

Both the main exhibition and a two-day conference are free to attend, as are presentations in the Innovation Theatre, which will showcase the fast pace of change in the sector.

The annual Aquaculture Awards – for which nominations are now open - will be staged in Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel on the night of June 16.
