Norway salmon prices hold steady
Although there was a slight decrease, the price remained in the NOK 90s last week.
The spot price of market-dominating Norwegian farmed salmon decreased marginally by NOK 0.60 (£0.05) per kilo, down to NOK 90.40 (£7.03) per kilo last week (week 7).
That price is NOK 2.01/kg higher than in the same week a year ago.
The average price so far this year is NOK 85.65/kg compared to the equivalent of NOK 99.23/kg a year ago, when the year had started with prices at around NOK 130/kg.
Exports
According to the Norwegian Seafood Council, 29,670 tonnes (round weight) of salmon were exported from Norway in week 7. That is about the same as the week before, but 16% above the same week last year.
So far this year, Norway has exported 186,000 tonnes of salmon, also approximately 16% above the corresponding period last year.
Feed
As of week 6, according to statistics provider Akvafakta, 141,000 tonnes of feed for salmon and trout have been sold.
That is 5% more than at the same time in 2025.
Cod
Norway exported 313 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod in week 7, which is 19% less than the same week a year ago.
The fish fetched NOK 74.98 /kg, which is NOK 2.12 /kg more than the week before, and NOK 7.60/kg more than week 7 of 2025.
So far this year, 2,059 tonnes (round weight) of cod have been exported, which is just under 1% more than at the same time last year.
