The moves follow the decision by Grieg and fellow Norwegian salmon farmer Bremnes Seashore to end their 10-year Ocean Quality sales joint venture.
“We will re-position the company in the value chain and evolve from being a pure salmon supplier to become an innovation partner for selected customers. We need people with a strong drive who want to build something new,” said Grieg’s personnel chief, Kathleen Mathisen, in a press release.
Value chain director
Ocean Quality group quality manager Carl Johan A Sandberg will take up the position as value chain director. Sandberg, who has many years of experience in the seafood industry, is co-founder and chairman of YoungFish, a Norwegian networking organisation for seafood employees under the age of 37.
Another Ocean Quality employee, Helene Andrea Gjerde Lund, becomes Grieg’s team leader for Europe. Gjerde Lund, senior sales manager in Ocean Quality, is head of YoungFish West.
Anita Wahlvåg will take up the position as sales / logistics coordinator. She has worked in various sales and marketing positions in SalMar and has several years of experience from the salmon industry. She is currently working in clothing retail.
