
SalMar harvested 64,500 tonnes of salmon in Norway and Iceland in Q2
Volume increased by 44% from same quarter last year
Salmon heavyweight SalMar harvested 64,500 gutted weight tonnes in the second quarter of this year, it said in a trading update.
The distribution of the harvest was:
- Farming Central Norway: 33,900 gwt
- Farming Northern Norway: 20,600 gwt
- SalMar Ocean: 6,000 gwt
- Icelandic Salmon: 4,000 gwt
The harvest volume is an increase of 19,700 gwt (44%) over the 44,800 gwt harvested in Norway and Iceland in the same period last year when it was recovering from biological problems such as barbed wire jellyfish.
The harvest volume for Scottish Sea Farms, which is owned 50-50 by SalMar and Lerøy Seafood Group, is not included in the update.
