New chief executive for fish farming boat services heavyweight Trident
Ex-FSV boss Aasmyr replaces Brandal at top of merged group
Trident Aqua Services - launched in May 2025 as the result of the merger between Intership, Aquaship, and FSV Group - has appointed Arild Aasmyr as its new chief executive.
Aasmyr succeeds Ole-Peter Brandal, who Trident said has played a key role in shaping the company into the world’s first fully integrated global provider of all types of aquaculture vessels in the industry.
Trident said the leadership transition marks a new milestone for the company, which is a major global player in the aquaculture sector. With operations across across Norway, Chile, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, a fleet of more than 60 specialised vessels, and more than 1,000 employees, Trident is now the second-largest maritime service provider to the global aquaculture industry.
“I would like to thank Ole-Peter Brandal for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the vision of Trident. Under his guidance, Trident has set a strong foundation for the future. We look forward to our continued partnership with both Ole-Peter and Arild in building a leading platform in this industry,” said Alex Schukin, partner at Trident owner American Industrial Partners.

Arild Aasmyr has worked as CEO of FSV Group for the past seven years, during which he led the company through a period of significant growth and operational maturity.
“Leading a company that brings together the industry’s top expertise with a fully integrated service model is a tremendous opportunity and one I am deeply motivated by. We have a strong team, a modern fleet, and a clear vision: to safeguard sustainable seafood production,” said Aasmyr.
Time for next phase
Brandal has led Intership since its inception and has been key to it becoming a globally recognised player. He will continue to remain actively involved in Trident Aqua Services as a director and consultant.
“I hand over the reins with both pride and confidence. Over the past months, we’ve worked intensively to build relationships, share expertise, and establish a strong common foundation. Now it's time for the next phase, and I am confident that Arild is the right person to lead Trident forward,” said Brandal.
