Aquaculture marine services companies Intership, Aquaship, and FSV Group have officially launched a new umbrella brand, Trident Aqua Services, that unites all three into one integrated company following Aquaship / Intership's acquisition of FSV Group in December last year.

Trident will operate a fleet of more than 60 vessels, with several newbuilds under construction, and employ around 1,000 people across seven countries – Norway, Chile, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

The company’s fleet includes wellboats, service vessels, feed carriers and harvest vessels. Trident said the merged company becomes the world’s first to offer a fully integrated service portfolio across all vessel types required in the aquaculture industry.

Trident’s owners said the new name represents a shared ambition to raise the bar for how mission-critical services are delivered in a rapidly evolving industry.

“We chose the name Trident because it stands for strength, unity, and the sea,” said Ole Peter Brandal, chief executive of Trident Aqua Services. “Three companies merged into one team – ready to move forward together. The name is new, but the people, the expertise, and the commitment to our customers remain the same.”

Trident Aqua Services said in a press release that it is built on a clear vision to safeguard sustainable seafood production by helping the industry produce more, with less environmental impact; ensuring fish welfare, operational stability, and long-term profitability; and developing smarter, more integrated solutions that reduce complexity, increase efficiency, and drive real change.

'More than a rebrand'

“The seafood industry is under pressure,” said Arild Aasmyr, chief executive of FSV Group and part of the executive team at Trident. “The industry faces tighter regulations, biological risk, climate-related challenges and increased operational costs. Trident was created to meet these realities head-on – by combining operational expertise with new technology and cross-functional teams that can help customers succeed.”

“This is more than a rebrand. It’s a renewed commitment to the industry,” added Aasmyr. “To keep what works, improve what can be better, and never compromise on reliability, safety, or fish welfare. We are committed to driving industry excellence through innovation and a deep understanding of our customers’ real-world challenges. Our size allows us to make a real difference.”

The newly formed company will retain its key hubs in Hareid, Molde, and Kristiansund, Norway, while continuing to expand its presence in international markets. The new company offers integrated solutions tailored to the full lifecycle of aquaculture production.
