AKVA names new chief of land-based aquaculture unit

Norway-headquartered global aquaculture supplier AKVA group has announced the appointment of Johan Fredrik Gjesdal as the new chief operating officer of its business unit dealing in land-based aquaculture, starting today.

Gjesdal comes from the position as vice president strategy & business development in AKVA group, a position he has held for the last three and a half years.

He replaces Morten Nielsen, who is entering a new role as general manager in AKVA group Land Based Denmark to focus on business development and strengthening of the land-based project organisation in Denmark.

Team player

“I’m very pleased to announce that Johan Fredrik Gjesdal will join the team as our new COO Land Based,” said AKVA chief executive Knut Nesse in a press release.

“Johan Fredrik is a great team player and I’m really happy to find and promote internal talents in AKVA group. I am confident that he will be an excellent addition to the AKVA management team.”
