YO! Sushi says yes to traffic lights
In a statement, the FSA said it was delighted at the company's decision, “as the traffic light labels help people make healthier choices quickly and 'at a glance' – not only when shopping but also now when eating out at YO! Sushi’s Japanese-inspired restaurants.”
The multiple traffic light approach was developed by the FSA with retailers and manufacturers in mind, based on extensive consumer research.
“We will be interested to see how YO! Sushi customers react to having traffic lights on the menu.
“We hope that YO! Sushi’s support of the scheme will encourage other restaurants and caterers to also consider how they can help their customers make more informed choices about healthier eating when dining out,” the FSA said.
YO! Sushi has produced a booklet for its customers that provide nutritional information with traffic light labelling for all of its dishes, in a bid to make it easier for people with a food intolerance or allergy to choose dishes that are soya, gluten or wheat free.
