Scottish Sea Farms shortlisted in six categories of Crown Estate Awards

Scottish Sea Farms, one of Scotland’s leading farmed salmon producers has been shortlisted for the following categories: Farm manager of the year - David Duffy, Dunstaffnage; Aquaculture Ambassador – Geoff Kidd; Retailer of the year – the Lochmuir partnership with M&S; Supplier of the year - Fusion Marine; Business development – working on behalf of the sector in opening export routes to China for the first time; Innovation - for developing a unique staff development and training packag

Scottish Sea Farms Managing Director, Jim Gallagher, said: “We are delighted to have been short-listed in so many categories. It is recognition of the pride we take in our operations and in nurturing both our customer and supplier relationships. It's wonderful that not only are our own efforts recognised but also those of Fusion Marine as a crucial supplier to SSF and the industry, as well as M&S for whom we exclusively produce Lochmuir Salmon.

To also be recognised as a finalist in the M&S Plan A awards is a testimony to the sustainability and quality credentials of Scottish Sea Farms, we are totally committed to the core principals of Plan A and to supporting the long term economic and environmental sustainability of Salmon farming in Scotland.”

The Crown Estates Awards will be announced on 9th June 2011. The Marks & Spencer Farming for the Future Awards will be presented at The Royal Highland Show on 23rd June.
