United States-based aquaculture supplier Innovasea today announced the promotion of Jorge Bravo to managing director of its Chilean operations.

Bravo, who joined Innovasea in 2020, most recently served as the company’s technical manager for Chile. He has previously played a major role in launching and expanding Innovasea’s Chilean operations.

“Jorge has consistently proven himself as a leader and shown a strategic, results-oriented mindset that has been instrumental in driving our Chilean success,” said Innovasea vice president of aquaculture, Marc Turano. “I’m confident he will continue to elevate the role and foster meaningful relationships across the region.”

Understanding the issues

Bravo will oversee Innovasea’s operations, strategy and performance in Chile. Innovasea said his key priorities will include ensuring fish farms enjoy high-quality solutions and ongoing support, while also collaborating with them to continue developing innovative, high-impact offerings that will advance the salmon industry.

A cornerstone of this effort will be working closely with farms to better understand pressing issues, technology gaps, and opportunities that will guide Innovasea’s ongoing research and development. These solutions will complement and enhance Innovasea’s existing suite of reliable, precision aquaculture technology, including the biomass estimation solution (BiomassPro) and environmental sensors (aquaMeasure).

“I’m excited to partner with local farms, making them an integral part of the country’s long-term success,” said Bravo. “Through this collaboration, we’ll be able to better tailor state-of-the-art solutions that effectively meet their needs and deliver sustainable, long-term growth.”

Bravo has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Simón Bolívar and an MBA from the Universidad San Sebastián.
