Salmon prices are creeping up
The third consecutive week of increase lifts Norwegian spot prices towards the NOK 80s.
According to sector statsitics provider Akvafakta, the spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon rose last week (week 44) by NOK 2.17/kg to NOK 77.68 (£5.83) per kilo.
That price is NOK 6.77 NOK/kg above the same week last year.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 75.86/kg, compared to NOK 94.21/kg for the same period in 2024.
Exports
Norway exported 36,116 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 44. This is 5.3% less than the week before and it is also 2.5% less than the same week last year.
So far this year, Norway has exported 1.35 million tonnes of salmon (round weight), 15.1% more than at the same time in 2024.
Feed sales
As of week 41, 1.77 million tonnes of salmon and trout feed have been sold. This is 9% more than at the same time a year ago.
The trend for the last four weeks (weeks 38-41) is 7% up from the same period last year.
