
Mainstream heads the salmon exports as Q1 2011
According to data published by the Export Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ProChile), the remaining companies in a top ten ranking of exporters are Pesquera Los Fiordos (US$ 67.7 million), Australis Mar (US$ 43.1 million), Trusal (US$ 40.3 million), Acuinova (US$ 39.9 million), Salmones Antártica (US$ 39.6 million), Salmones Pacific Star (US$ 33.6 million) and Marine Harvest Chile (US$ 30.2 million).
Other relevant results were obtained by Ventisqueros (US$ 30.0 million), Salmones Cupquelán (US$ 30.0 million), Salmones FrioSur (US$ 24.8 million), Invertec Pequera Mar de Chiloé (US$ 22.7 million), Cultivos Marinos Chiloé (US$ 21.7 million), Caleta Bay (US$ 17.8 million), Salmones de Chile (US$ 17.3 million), Salmones Aysén (US$ 14.9 million) and Granja Marina Tornagaleones, company that exported US$ 14.5 million in Q1 2011.
According to the Monthly Report of External Trade published by the National Customs Service, the Chilean salmon industry totaled returns for US$ 875.3 million as of March 2011. Meanwhile, according to ProChile, the most exported products within the first two months of this year were frozen HG of Coho salmon and Rainbow trout.
The results of AquaChile were obtained after a combination of the exported figures of AquaChile, Salmones Chiloé and Aguas Claras, companies controlled by the same owners, similar to what happens with the results of Marine Harvest Chile, which were obtained after adding the results of Marine Harvest Chile and Delifish.
