Mainstream heads the salmon exports as of February

According to data published by the Export Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ProChile), the remaining companies in a top ten ranking of exporters are Salmones Multiexport (US$ 36.0 million), Acuinova (US$ 32.8 million), Salmones Pacific Star (US$ 28.6 million), Marine Harvest Chile (US$ 27.2 million), Australis Mar (US$ 26.3 million), Trusal (US$ 25.9 million), and Salmones Antártica (US$ 20.5 million).

Other relevant results were obtained by Ventisqueros (US$ 20.1 million), Salmones Cupquelán (US$ 19.0 million), Salmones Aysén (US$ 14.9 million), Granja Marina Tornagaleones (US$ 14.5 million), Cultivos Marinos Chiloé (US$ 14.3 million), Invertec Pequera Mar de Chiloé (US$ 13.4 million), Caleta Bay (US$ 13.4 million), Salmones FrioSur (US$ 12.9 million) and Pesquera El Golfo, company that exported US$ 12.1 million as of February 2011.

According to the Monthly Report of External Trade published by the National Customs Service, the Chilean salmon industry totaled returns for US$ 251.5 million as of February 2011. Meanwhile, according to ProChile, the most exported products within the first two months of this year were frozen HG of Coho salmon and Rainbow trout.

The results of AquaChile were obtained after a combination of the exported figures of AquaChile, Salmones Chiloé and Aguas Claras, companies controlled by the same owners, similar to what happens with the results of Marine Harvest Chile, which were obtained after adding the results of Marine Harvest Chile and Delifish.
