Mainstream Chile to invest US$ 9.7 million in new processing plant
Christian Pérez According to the information provided by the company to the public Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA), this new processing plant would be able to process 180 tonnes of raw material per day and produce between 135 and 153 tonnes. Likewise, the operation of this facility would demand hiring around 250 workers. The company expects to start the construction of this processing plant in late March 2015. Mainstream Chile already has several production units in the region of Magallanes, including one hatchery and smolt farm, one sea site in operation and 9 aquaculture licenses.
