The money will be used for a number of key projects including cleaning up riverbanks for sea fishing in Cardigan Bay and the development of a satellite safety device for people swept overboard. Rural Affairs Minister Elin Jones announced the funding at the Selonda fish farm on Anglesey. Jones said the cash boost is the first of a series of funding announcements for Welsh fisheries. The money is split between European funds and the Welsh Assembly Government for five schemes. Jones also told that he looks forward to supporting many more innovative projects in the coming months.
