Norway salmon price settled back last week

Price fell by almost NOK 9 per kilo after record high in week 11

The spot price for Norwegian farmed salmon fell by NOK 8.88/kg last week (week 12), down to NOK 117.65 (£9.13) per kilo.

That price is NOK 32.94/kg higher than in the same week last year.

The average Norwegian salmon spot price so far this year is NOK 103.91/kg, compared to NOK 78.72/kg in the first 12 weeks of 2022.

Norway, the world’s largest producer of farmed salmon, exported 24,401 tonnes (round weight) in week 12. After many weeks of weak volumes, this weekly volume was the highest since week 5, although it was 3.4% lower than in the same week last year.

So far this year, Norway has exported 279,000 tonnes of salmon, a 9.7% smaller volume than for the same period last year.
