What was your best moment / occasion of 2018? And what was the worst?

There are no best or worst days. They are all good days although some may be a bit more challenging than others. I still get up and look forward to every day, even after all these years. That’s what being passionate about this industry does to you.

What's the one thing you'd most like to see happen to benefit salmon farming in 2019?

What I would like to see in the year ahead is for the critics, especially those from the wild fish sector, come out from behind their PC screens and be willing to engage. Everyone wants to see a thriving wild fish sector and this won’t happen until the wild fish sector start to adopt a more open-minded approach and be willing to discuss the issues.

Tomorrow: Craig Anderson, chief executive of the Scottish Salmon Company.
