Published

The market-influencing spot price for Norwegian farmed salmon fell by the smallest of margins - one Norwegian penny - in week 25, down to NOK 66.25 (£5.28) per kilo. However, as week 24 had the lowest price so far this year, this tiny drop was enough to set another low-price record for the year.

The price is also NOK 3 below the same week a year ago.

The average spot price so far this year is NOK 80.52/kg, compared to the corresponding NOK 83.52/kg last year.

Exports

The volume of salmon exported by Norway in week 24 was the highest ever in the first half of the year. But the record didn’t last long. With a further increase of 10% to week 25, up to 35,988 tonnes (round weight), there was again a new weekly record for the first half of the year.

The volume was also 10% greater than in week 25 of 2025.

So far this year, Norway has exported 699,000 tonnes of salmon, 5% more than in the same period last year.

Feed

As of week 19, 652,000 tonnes of salmon and trout feed had been sold, 2% more than at the same time a year ago.

Cod

In week 25, 338 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod were exported at a price of NOK 80.31/kg.

This is 80% more volume than last year in the same week.

The price is up NOK 3.75/kg from the previous week and NOK 13.45/kg from the same week in 2025.

So far this year, 7,224 tonnes (round weight) of farmed cod have been exported at an average price of NOK 75.04/kg.

That's 8% more in volume and 13% higher in price than in the same period last year.
