Norwegian salmon spot price nudged up again last week

The spot price of market-influencing Norwegian farmed salmon increased by NOK 0.90 per kilo last week (week 29), up to NOK 65.20 (£5.20), according to sector statistics provider Akvafakta.

That price is NOK 3.19 higher than the same week last year, when the spot price was NOK 62.01/kg.

Over the last four weeks, the spot price has risen by NOK 0.68 per week.

Exports

According to the Norwegian Seafood Council, Norway exported 38,353 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 29.

That is 15.5% more than the same week last year.

So far this year, 847,033 tonnes of salmon have been exported, 4.6% more than at the same time last year.
