'Provides a solid foundation for 2027'
Strong order intake and improved profitability boosted AKVA Group's results in the second quarter
Fish farming supplier AKVA Group delivered higher revenue and significantly improved profitability in the second quarter, while order intake increased by 28%. The company points to high activity in both sea-based and land-based operations.
AKVA Group reported revenue of NOK 1.189 billion (£94.8 million) in the second quarter of 2026, up from NOK 1.167bn in the same period last year. EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation) ended at NOK 179m, an increase of 23% from NOK 145m the previous year.
Operating profit (EBIT) rose to NOK 111m, compared to NOK 89m in the second quarter of 2025. This corresponds to an EBIT margin of 9.4%.
According to the company, the improvement in results is due to economies of scale, a favourable product mix in the sea-based business and continued good project execution within land-based fish farms.
The land-based segment alone generated revenue of NOK 326m in the quarter.
Strong increase in incoming orders
Order intake increased from NOK 1.052bn to NOK 1.345bn during the quarter, a growth of 28%.
At the end of June, AKVA's order book was worth NOK 2.997bn, up from NOK 2.712bn a year earlier. Almost half of the order value, 46%, is related to the land-based business.
The company believes this provides good predictability for revenues both for the rest of the year and into 2027.
"The second quarter of 2026 reflects the strong commercial development we continue to see across all of AKVA's business areas. We are pleased with the strong order intake and the development in the order backlog, which provides a solid foundation for the rest of the year and into 2027," said chief executive Knut Nesse in a stock exchange release.
Strategic review under way
AKVA also states that the strategic review of the company is still ongoing, and that it is expected to be completed during the autumn, in line with previous communications.
The company will present its full quarterly report for the second quarter on August 14.
