Norwegian salmon price stays in the NOK 90s
The spot price of market-influencing Norwegian farmed salmon nudged upwards by €0.1 per kilo last week (week 12) according to the Sisalmon index (formerly FishPool index), although the fluctuating value of the Norwegian krone meant that the price decreased by NOK 0.58 per kilo to NOK 93.87 (£7.26) per kilo when measured by the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) in that currency.
Nonetheless, that price is NOK 9.34/kg higher than in the same week last year.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 86.24/kg, compared to NOK 93.55/kg at the same time a year ago.
Export
According to the NSC, 27,857 tonnes (round weight) of salmon were exported from Norway in week 12. This is somewhat more than in the previous four weeks, and just 30 tonnes less than in the same week in 2025.
So far this year, Norway has exported 317,000 tonnes (round weight) of salmon, which is 8% more than last year.
Feed
According to NSC statistics provider Akvafakta, 334,000 tonnes of salmon and trout feed have been sold as of week 10. This is 2% more than in the corresponding period in 2025.
The trend for the last four weeks (weeks 7-10) is 4% down from last year.
Cod
According to the NSC, 237 tonnes (round weight) of cod were exported in week 12. This is 46% less than in the same week a year ago.
A total of 3,332 tonnes have been exported so far this year, approximately 9% less.
The price last week for cod (FOB price Norwegian border) was NOK 73.75/kg. That is down NOK 3.6/kg from the week before and up NOK 10.61/kg from the same week in 2025.
