The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) today announced that Brian Perkins is no longer chief executive officer of the organisation.

The GSA, which runs the Best Aquaculture Practices certification scheme, said former GSA executive director and chief executive Wally Stevens is acting as CEO until a replacement is found, adding that more details would be forthcoming.

Perkins, 69, joined the GSA as chief operating officer in March 2021 and became chief executive in January last year.

Prior to joining the GSA he spent six years as the Marine Stewardship Council’s regional director for the Americas. His career also included 15 years with Diversified Communications, which organises the world’s biggest seafood trade event, Seafood Expo Global.
