The company specialises in producing tarpaulins and lice skirts for the aquaculture industry and its CEO, Tore Harsvik, told kyst.no that he is satisfied with last year's result.

“This is the result of our long-term initiative focusing on efficient production and planning,” he said. And this has been backed by an increase in demand for their products.

Tore Harsvik, Botngaard's CEO, is happy with the results.

“With more efficient production, we were also able to get a greater volume through the factory,” he explains.

Despite the increased turnover, however, the company’s profits fell slightly, from NOK 13.3 to 12.7 million.

“Earnings are affected by raw material prices and the market in general and there are now several other players competing in the market,” Harsvik explains.

Wage costs in the company increased from 7.6 million to about 10.8 million and the company is due to move into a new factory on 1st September.

“We are now investing in a new plant, which will affect our results for 2016,” says Harsvik.

Despite this disruption, he is happy with this year’s tarpaulin production levels to date.

“We have produced a large volume so far, and it also looks bright in terms of production during the autumn,” he adds.
