The fully automated machine is already used by fin fish farms in Canada, the United States, Scotland, Norway, New Zealand, and Greece.

“The AutoBoss is a fantastic machine. It is designed to be reliable, user-friendly, and independent,” said Trimara director Stewart Hawthorn, a former fish farmer, in a press release.

Stewart Hawthorn: "Our new partner, Ersil, is the perfect fit."

“Trimara provides excellence in commissioning, training, and on-going post-sales support. We want to ensure that our AutoBoss customers in Chile will get the same great support that we deliver in other parts of the world. Our new partner, Ersil, is the perfect fit.”

Training package

Hawthorn said a commissioning and training package is included in the purchase of an AutoBoss. Operators and local mechanics are trained in daily operations as well as routine servicing operations. Puerto Montt-based Ersil, which has established relationships with all the major players in the Chilean fish farmer sector, will provide these services in Chile as well as sales and marketing back-up.

Ersil sales manager Ricardo Neumann said: “The AutoBoss provides a cost-effective net washing solution to reduce biofouling discharge as the nets are kept very clean. We are convinced that the AutoBoss is an ideal solution for on-site net washing in Chile.”

“It has been great getting to know the team at Ersil over the last year and we are looking forward to working with them as they develop this important market for us,” said Hawthorn. “Farms in Chile are perfect for our net washer.”
