Salmon price nudges up

The market-defining spot price of Norwegian salmon rose by NOK 2.63 / kg to NOK 45.27 / kg last week (week 42), but that was still NOK 5.18 below what it was in the same week a year ago, figures from salmon data provider Akvafakta show.

The average salmon price for the first 42 weeks of 2020 is NOK 56.52 / kg, marginally above the status at the same time last year when it was NOK 56.40 / kg.

Norway 30,995 tonnes (round weight) were exported in week 41. This is 5.7% over the same week in 2019.

So far this year, 962,000 tonnes have been exported by the world’s largest Atlantic salmon producing country, 0.6% below the same time last year.
