The reception by the Scottish Salmon Producers’ Organisation (SSPO) at the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood, Edinburgh was originally due to be held last December but was put on hold until April 28 because of the general election.

That rearranged event has now been postponed because of the outbreak of coronavirus, also known as Covid-19.

SSPO strategic engagement director Hamish Macdonell said: “The Scottish Salmon Producers’ Organisation is disappointed that this year’s Holyrood MSPs reception will no longer go ahead.

“As the Covid-19 crisis escalates the SSPO will continue to regularly brief ministers and MSPs, particularly those whose constituencies host salmon farms and critical supply chain companies.”
