Arctic Fish appoints new chief operating officer from Mowi

Arctic Fish Holding AS, majority owned by Mowi, has appointed experienced fish farming executive John Gunnar Grindskar as its new chief operating officer farming, effective from December 1, 2023.

Grindskar started in Mowi Norway as a site manager at Hitra in 1992 and has over his career held various seawater related positions in different regions in the company in Norway.

“I am very pleased that John Gunnar Grindskar has stepped into the role as COO Farming. His background and experience will be of great benefit to Arctic Fish in an important phase for the company,” says Stein Ove Tveiten, chief executive of Arctic Fish Holding AS.

Grindskar said: “Iceland is a new farming region, with growing volume and significant growth potential going forward. I am very excited to take part in the development of Arctic Fish into the leading farming company in Iceland.

“The company has a well-established and unique value chain, from smolt to sales. Developing the organisation and securing best practice will be an important part of my role and I am excited to get started on these tasks.”
