Macduff Shellfish plots expansion with MD appointment

With 25 years fishing industry expertise, Roy joins from dedicated Waitrose supplier and Young’s Seafood-owned operation, Macrae Edinburgh, which he headed up for the past ten years.   Owned by the Beaton family and run by three brothers - Euan, Paul and Fergus - Macduff Shellfish exports to Europe and the Far East, as well as supplying the UK market.   It primarily trades in native UK species of shellfish. Commenting on Roy’s appointment, Euan Beaton, who will retain his role as chairman, said: “Over the past 10 years we’ve quadrupled the business and have ambitious plans for the future. To help us achieve our plans we recognised that we needed to bring in someone to help manage the business.  "Together with Roy; Paul, Fergus and I have the perfect blend of skills to truly drive the company forward while remaining true to the culture and heritage that we’ve carefully built up over many years.  “By bringing Roy in, it will allow me the time to focus on developing strategic relationships to take Macduff Shellfish to the next level".
