
Norway salmon spot price shows modest recovery
The price is approaching the NOK 60s again, but export volumes remain exceptionally large for the time of year.
The spot price of fresh Norwegian salmon rose last week (week 33) by NOK 2.68/kg to NOK 57.73 (£4.21) per kilo, according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta.
That price is NOK 14.79/kg below the same week last year.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 77.71/kg, compared to NOK 102.95/kg at the same time in 2024.
Export
Norway exported 38,047 tonnes (round weight) of salmon last week, which was once again an all-time high for this time of year.
Volume was also 27.3% above the same week a year ago.
So far this year, Norway has exported 945,000 tonnes of salmon, 22% more than during the same period in 2024.
Feed
As of week 31, 1.1 million tons of feed had been sold, 13% more than in the corresponding period a year ago.
However, the trend for the last four weeks (weeks 28-31) is 7% down.
