Greene King buys seafood chain Loch Fyne for £68.1m

LFR has a chain of 36 seafood restaurants, and is renowned for its fresh oysters and smoked salmon. Greene King, owner of Scottish brewer Belhaven and pubs said LFR operated a proven food concept which would help to develop Greene King's existing offer and deliver immediate entry into the premium branded food segment.

Greene King also claimed that it saw the potential to double the number of restaurants through the chain's development pipeline and the conversion of existing pubs

Rooney Anand, chief executive of Greene King, said: "'Loch Fyne is a high-quality, well respected British restaurant brand which gives us greater access to the premium end of the market and brings to our business further operational expertise."
