The spot price of Norwegian salmon has dropped below what it was in 2022 but had a small increase last week.

The spot price of Norwegian salmon rose in week 27 by NOK 2.97/kg to NOK 90.45 (£6.88) per kilo, which was NOK 4.53/kg below the same week last year, according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta.

Norway exported 26,569 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 27, a 10% increase compared to the same week in 2022. The average export price for fresh salmon in week 27 was NOK 95.27 per kilo, which was NOK 2.74 higher than the same week last year.

So far this year, Norway has exported 627,000 tonnes of salmon, a decrease of 2.4% from the same period last year.
