The effects of dissolved oxygen on salmon and tools for feeding management will be discussed next week.

Oxygen and feeding on the agenda for free salmon webinar

Published

A free webinar about the effects of dissolved oxygen on salmon and predictive tools for feeding management will be held a week on Friday by the NoviFEED project, led by Portuguese feed and contract research company Sparos.

Speakers will present the results of trials carried out in the context of NoviFEED, with salmon reared under different oxygen levels, and two predictive tools designed to support more efficient feeding management of salmon production.

Ivar Rønnestad (University of Bergen) and Nina Liland (Norway’s Institute of Marine Research) will make a 15-minute presentation about the effects of dissolved oxygen on salmon performance, then Ana Nobre (Sparos) will talk about FEEDNETICS and FiT feeding tables developed for salmon.

There will then be 20 minutes for questions.

The webinar starts at 9am BST on Friday, April 26. Register for the webinar here.

NoviFEED is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through European Economic Area grants, in the scope of the Blue Growth programme operated by Portugal’s Directorate-General for Maritime Policy.

The NoviFEED project aims to develop innovative IT tools to optimise feeding with the aim of contributing to a more sustainable growth of the aquaculture industry.
