Aquafeed producer BioMar has appointed experienced animal nutrition and aquaculture executive Cedric van den Bossche as vice president for its Asia division, which comprises the business units in Vietnam and China.

BioMar said Van den Bossche is joining with more than 15 years of experience building up businesses in the Asian markets, mainly working in general management roles for ADM and NEOVIA in China, Indonesia, and India.

As VP for Asia, he will be working out of China, developing the product portfolio and the market strategies for the Asian markets together with the local teams. He will also take the lead in looking into new opportunities for developing BioMar across Asia.

Strong in shrimp

“I am truly happy welcoming Cedric as a part of our executive management. We have during the last years built a solid position in the Chinese market, created a strong global market position within the shrimp feed segment, and started the penetration of the Vietnamese market,” said BioMar chief executive Carlos Diaz.

“There is huge potential for further growth in Asia and I am sure Cedric is bringing both the right entrepreneurial spirit and the solid management experience we need to accelerate the further growth in the region.

After a transition period, Van den Bossche will take over from Francois Loubere, who has decided to retire after more than 30 years in BioMar.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Francois for his enormous contribution to BioMar during his career. He has been instrumental in managing and developing many markets around the world, and I wish him all the best in this new stage of his life,” said Diaz.
