SalMar harvested 36,900 tonnes in Q1
Scottish Sea Farms co-owner SalMar harvested 36,900 gutted weight tonnes of salmon in Norway and Iceland in the first quarter of this year, it said in a market update.
SalMar harvested 20,800 gwt in its central Norway region, 13,500 gwt in northern Norway and 2,500 gwt in Iceland, where it operates a subsidiary company, Icelandic Salmon. SalMar’s harvested volume in Q1 last year was 40,000 gwt.
Its share of Scottish Sea Farms’ volume is not included in the figures. Ownership of SSF is split equally between SalMar and Lerøy, and SalMar therefore classes SSF as an associate company, not a subsidiary.
