The spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon reached a new high last week as supply remained limited.

The spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon rose by NOK 2.96/kg last week (week 11) to a record-high of NOK 126.53 (£9.89) per kilo, according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta.

That price is NOK 47.72/kg above the price in the same week last year.

The average spot price so far this year is NOK 102.66/kg. A year ago, it was NOK 78.18/kg.

Norway exported 21,682 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 11, the second lowest weekly volume of the year, and 16.2% less than the same week in 2022.

So far this year, Norway has 254,000 tonnes of salmon, 10.3% less than at the same time a year ago.
