Salmon rose in value last week

The spot price for Norwegian fish rose by almost 10%. Volumes were the lowest for a regular week in a year.

The spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon rose by NOK 7.72 per kilo last week (week 10), up to NOK 86.44 (£6.68) per kilo.

That price is NOK 3.93/kg above the same week last year.

The average price so far this year is NOK 84.66/kg, compared to NOK 95.57/kg at the same time in 2025.

Exports

According to the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), Norway exported 25,318 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 10, which is 7% less than the same week a year ago.

It is also the lowest weekly volume in a regular week since week 8 last year.

So far this year, 265,000 tonnes of salmon have been exported, approximately 11% more than at the same time in 2025.

Feed

According to Akvafakta, 207,000 tons of salmon and trout feed have been sold as of week 6. This is 5% more than in the corresponding period a year ago.

Cod

According to the NSC, 307 tonnes of farmed cod (round weight) were exported at a price per kilo of NOK 73.36/kg in week 10. This is a decrease in volume of 86 tonnes from the previous week, but an increase in price of 94 cents per kilo.

In week 10 of 2025, the corresponding values were 358 tonnes and NOK 63.53/kg.
