Norway's salmon spot price continued climbing last week
The price was the highest (not adjusted for inflation) ever recorded for that week of the year. However, not by a large margin.
The spot price for Norwegian salmon in week 38 was up NOK 2.56/kg to NOK 73.28 (£5.46) per kilo. That price is NOK 5.41/kg above the same week last year, and at the same time also NOK 0.06 higher than the price for this week in 2023. Before that, no year has had prices above this for week 38.
The average spot price so far this year is NOK 76.10/kg, compared to NOK 98.38/kg at the same time last year.
Export volume
The volume of salmon exported from Norway in week 38 was 36,345 tonnes (round weight), 6.5% below the same week in 2024. Weekly export volumes have been larger than last year's equivalent for most of the year, but week 38 was the second week in a row with lower volume - and higher prices than last year.
So far this year, Norway has exported 1.13 million tonnes of salmon, 18.7% more than at the same time a year ago.
Feed sales
As of week 37, 1.55 million tonnes of feed for salmon and trout had been sold in Norway in 2025. This is 9% more than in the corresponding period in 2024.
The trend for the last four weeks (weeks 34-37) is 4% lower than the same period a year ago.
