Norwegian salmon spot price jumped by 30p per kilo last week

The spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon rose by NOK 4.04 (£0.30) per kilo last week, the biggest increase in months, according to sector statistics supplier Akvafakta.

The average salmon price for week 39 was NOK 77.26/kg, which is NOK 14.97/kg above the same week last year.

The average price of Norwegian salmon so far this year is NOK 95.85/kg compared to NOK 84.96/kg at the same time a year ago.

Norway, the world’s biggest producer of Atlantic salmon, exported 34,727 tonnes of salmon (round weight) in week 39. This is roughly the same as the two previous weeks, but 6.2% less than the same week in 2022.
