Coastguard and feed vessel break up ice flow threatening salmon farm

The Norwegian Coastguard ship KV Bison assisted in preventing a 3,000 square metre ice floe from hitting a million salmon that were in cages at the Lerøy Aurora farm in the Lyngenfjord, reports state television channel NRK Troms and Finnmark in its website.

Lyngenfjord is east of Tromso, within the Artic Circle.

The ice floe was split up and pushed away from the fish farm, the Coastguard reports on X/Twitter.

The feed boat Eidsvåg Opal also took part in the operation.
