Garware casts its net wider in Chile
Indian net maker Garware Technical Fibres has strengthened its sales team in Chile, a key market, by hiring Ricardo Gálvez Oyarce.
“In Chile, we've experienced sustained growth over the last decade, and with our innovation, we've transformed the products used in the salmon farming industry,” said Garware’s Americas boss Gopakumar Menon in a press release.
“Ricardo's arrival seeks to strengthen Garware's growth and expansion, in line with our commercial strategy and the goal of maintaining and deepening our customer service. Our innovation process begins with the voice of the customer, and we work closely together.
“At Garware, we look to the short, medium, and long term to identify new opportunities with our current and potential customers in a constantly evolving environment facing increasing challenges. Ricardo's experience and skills will help us execute our mission and objectives.”
A new challenge
Gálvez holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Chile and a master's degree in business administration from the Austral University of Chile. He previously worked in areas such as maritime brokerage, industrial waste management, the development of new business lines and new markets, and in the commercial areas of salmon farmer Ventisqueros and consumer products heavyweight Procter & Gamble.
“This is a new challenge for me in my career, and I approach it with great enthusiasm. Garware has high-quality products and is implementing best practices in innovation, sustainability, market expansion, and great teamwork, and I will focus on adding value to the sales team,” said Gálvez, who recently visited Garware’s headquarters and factories in India.
As well as selling fish farm nets, Garware has also begun selling nets for sports, agriculture, security, and industrial applications in Chile.
